Greg Messina is the founder of Messina Multistate Tax LLC, a company that specializes in providing Massachusetts tax and multistate sales and use tax services to clients in various industries.
Greg has over 35 years of state tax experience. He has provided clients with multistate sales and use tax services including recovery reviews, audit representation, restructuring and compliance consulting. Greg’s experience also includes representing clients in many different states at administrative appeals conferences to resolve audit assessments and overpayment disputes.
He has represented numerous clients before the Massachusetts Department of Revenue’s Audit Division and Office of Appeals on sales and use, corporate excise, personal income and IFTA tax controversies. He has also testified before the Massachusetts Appellate Tax Board and the Massachusetts Legislature’s Joint Taxation Committee.
Prior to establishing his own firm, Greg worked for over 9 years as a Senior Manager in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s state and local tax practice. Greg’s work experience also includes 16 years at the Massachusetts Department of Revenue, including 10 years of management experience in the Audit Division where he held the position of Audit Manager, in two different regional offices.
Greg is a certified public accountant in Massachusetts and is active in several professional organizations. He is a member of the Massachusetts Taxpayers Foundation, the Institute for Professionals in Taxation, the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, the Boston Bar Association and Associated Industries of Massachusetts.
Greg received a M.S. in Taxation from Bentley College and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Massachusetts-Boston.
